Secretary General of Khmer Swimming Federation, Hem Kiry, gave high evaluation on the swimming event at the National Games and Paralympic Games.

He was also impressed by the athletes coming from other provinces after they won gold medals at the Games, which could be a good sign for them.

The event went smoothly, though there’s room for improvement especially on the event organization of the Paralympic Games.

“What impressed me the most is that athletes from provinces won many gold, silver and bronze medals,” said Kiry.

“Prey Veng won many gold medals, and this could explain that we have many talented athletes.

“Swimming makes a huge progress, and the provinces that have good infrastructure can win many medals.”

At the National Games, Prey Veng won the most medals with 7 golds, 5 silvers and 2 bronzes. Ministry of Interior won second place after they grabbed 4 golds, 5 silvers and 3 bronzes.

Third-placed Phnom Penh won 4 golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze.

For Paralympic Games, Kampot secured the first place with 3 golds and 1 silver followed by Kampong Cham who won 2 golds and 3 bronzes.

Phnom Penh got the third place after winning 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze.
