Uch Sokvibol, Cambodia national mountain bike coach, said Cambodia will welcome mountain bike athletes from the South East Asian region as a part of experience exchange ahead of the 32nd South East Asian (SEA) Games in 2023.

Cambodia organized the Siem Reap Wurkz MTB Series 2022 Round 3 last weekend as it aimed to test the national athletes’ performance and allow them to get more experience ahead of SEA Games 2023.

That event was taken part in by several Thai mountain bike athletes, and Sokvibol pointed out that Cambodia national mountain bike athletes displayed a good performance.

National trio including Khim Menglong, Chan Chhayfong, and Khem Malay did really well in the event, which gives Cambodia high hope for winning medals at the Games in 2023.

“We have gained a lot of benefits from the event as it allowed our athletes to get to know more about the athletes of other countries,” said Sokvibol.

Cambodian Cycling Federation has planned two national cycling events as a part of SEA Games 2023 preparation including National Games in December and Pre-SEA Games event. The Federation will also invite other countries in the South East Asian region to take part in the Pre-SEA Games event, too.
