Cambodia national pétanque team won 7 medals including 3 golds, 2 silvers and 2 bronzes from the recent Asian Pétanque Championship.
The 4th Asian Boules Sport Confederation Pétanque Championship took place in Thailand from 10-14 November, with 15 countries taking part in the event.
Sok Soukan the president of Cambodia Pétanque and Boules Federation said that this is a new achievement as well as a positive sign for the 32nd South East Asian (SEA) Games in Cambodia in 2023.
Three gold medals secured from the Asian Boules Sport Confederation Pétanque Championship thanks to the great job done by the Federation, coaches and athletes.
The Federation has been working hard and giving a great support to the national pétanque athletes with regular tests to select outstanding athletes for international events.
All the hard work paid off as the national pétanque athletes have won 394 medals from all the international events so far.
Cambodia sent 27 delegates, coaches and national pétanque athletes to the above event, and they will also join several more events to get more local and international experience ahead of SEA Games 2023 at home.
