National Olympic Committee of Cambodia
Founded in 1963 and headquartered in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, the National Olympic committee of Cambodia serves as the National Olympic Committee for Cambodia. As such, the NOCC is responsible for the training, entering and funding of Cambodia teams for the Olympic, Youth Olympic, Asian Games, and South East Asian Games, while serving as a steward of multi-sports in Cambodia.
In addition to its international Games responsibilities and its work to advance the Olympic Movement, the NOCC aids Cambodia’s Olympic athletes through their National Governing Bodies, providing financial support and jointly working to develop customized, creative and impactful athlete-support and coaching education programs.
The NOCC also supports Cambodia Olympic athletes on and off the field of play through programming such as direct athlete funding, health insurance, tuition grants, media and marketing opportunities, career services and performance-based monetary rewards. In addition, the Olympic Training Center facilities provide athletes with performance services, including sports medicine; strength and conditioning; psychology, physiology and nutrition assistance; and performance technology.
“Cambodia has a sustainable environment that has more residents from every segment of the population participating in sport, and increased numbers of high performance athletes are achieving higher results.”
Our brand strapline – Strive for the Extraordinary – encloses what drives Team CAMBODIA athletes, how the nation is moved by the power of their achievements and represents a motto to inspire us all to believe that we too can achieve our personal best.
The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, as the governing body of national sport federations, supports the sport delivery system to provide opportunities for the Cambodian people to participate at the introductory, recreational, competitive, and high-performance levels.
OUR CORE VALUES
Make sport (opportunities) more accessible to more people.
The pursuit of all forms of sport excellence at all levels, consistent with the best values of sport.
MORE INTENTIONAL USE OF SPORT
Sports as a medium to help achieve broader community goals.
The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia ( NOCC) has two principal roles.
Firstly, to prepare and lead our nation’s finest competitors at the summer, winter and youth Olympic Games and the Asian Games, South East Asian Games. Working with the National Federations, the NOCC selects Team Cambodia from the best sportsmen and women who will go on to compete in the Olympic games and Continental and Regional Games at the greatest sporting competition in the world.
Secondly, the NOCC seeks to develop, promote and protect the Olympic Movement within Cambodia in accordance with the Olympic Charter and the Olympic Values of friendship, excellence and respect. The NOCC is independent, privately funded and receives no annual funding from the government and has no political interests.
The success of our mission is entirely dependent upon the income we receive from our fundraising and events and, as a result, is the strong, independent voice for Cambodia Olympic Sport.
