Rajapov Abdullah reaches final at ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championship

Cambodia national boxer, Rajapov Abdullah, has advanced to the final at the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championship in Thailand, and this can boost his confidence to win gold medal at the 32nd South East Asian (SEA) Games in Cambodia in May. 

Buy Sophoan, the Secretary General of Cambodia Boxing Federation, said that the success at the international boxing event is a good sign and reflects a good preparation for SEA Games 2023. He also pointed out that it was the direction of the Federation, and the Federation’s hard work started to pay off. 

“Rajapov has reached the final, and this is a historic record for us. We never reached the final at Asian event before,” said Sophoan. 


“This is a new record, and it will boost our confidence and commitment to continue our hard work to succeed at SEA Games 2023 as Cambodia is the host country.

“Reaching the final at Asian event is a good sign for Cambodia, and it shows us that we are ready to challenge for gold medals at SEA Games 2023 that is a historic event in Cambodia. We are confident and ready to create a new history at the Games.” 

Rajapov will fight at the final to win a gold medal at the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championship on 26th January. This is the second time that Rajapov represents Cambodia on international boxing event. His debut was in 2020, when he competed at the Asian event.
